The club also has a long-standing rivalry with Athletic Bilbao, with whom they contest the Basque derby. Sporting CP FC is a professional football club based in Lisbon, Portugal. Founded in 1906, the club has competed in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football, for the majority of its existence. Sporting are the third most successful club in the country in terms of trophies won, behind only Benfica and Porto. They have won the Primeira Liga 18 times, the Taça de Portugal 24 times, and the Taça da Liga 3 times. They have also won a number of regional trophies, including the Campeonato de Lisboa 31 times.
