The club currently plays in La Liga 2, the second tier of Spanish football. The club was founded in 1926 and have had a long and successful history in Spanish and European football. They have won the Segunda División, Segunda División B and Tercera División on several occasions, as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey in 1994. They have also competed in the UEFA Cup, UEFA Champions League and Intertoto Cup. The team's traditional home kit is blue and white vertical stripes and they play their home matches at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere.
