Universidad Católica Fútbol Club, also known as La UC, is a professional football club based in Santiago, Chile. Founded in 1937, the club currently competes in the Primera División, the top tier of the Chilean football league system. Universidad Católica is one of the most successful and popular teams in Chile, having won 16 Primera División titles, and a Copa Chile in 2018. The club has also been a regular participant in international competitions, with notable appearances in the Copa Libertadores, South American Cup, and Interamerican Cup. The team plays its home games at the Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo, which has a capacity of 35,000 spectators.
Barcelona SC FC is a professional football club based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The team competes in the Ecuadorian Serie A, the top tier of the Ecuadorian football league system, and is one of the most successful clubs in the country. Founded in 1925, the club has won 14 Serie A titles, second only to Liga de Quito's 15. Barcelona SC is also the only Ecuadorian team to have won the Copa Libertadores, South America's premier club competition, in which they were champions in 1990. The club is known for its strong youth system, which has produced many of Ecuador's top players in recent years.
